I am no expert in this field, but as someone who is learning the art of public speaking I sympathise with you. The old adage, practice makes perfect is a good starting point. Knowing your subject matter and rehearsing over and over again so that it becomes second nature. Find someone you trust and go through your speech in front of them and ask them to be super critical of the content and the delivery. Then keep going back to the drawing board. Being good at something requires practice and perseverance. Just never give up! Good luck, Lawrence Jones

People often comment on why I never appear to worry or be scared by anything. I always give the same answer: what does worrying achieve?

This simple reply is always met with a pause then a quick realisation, normally in the style of a brief 'oh'.

Stress I find however can be a much trickier beast to conquer.

I totally agree. It’s all too easy to get wrapped up in negative thoughts but being grateful helps you to combat stress. It's true, there is always something to be grateful for. I really want to find out more about these techniques. Do you have any suggestions for reading material I could start with?

I always enjoy reading business books and looking for ways to improve myself and my career - but the books themselves get you to a certain level and every now and then, something comes along that takes it to the next.

Seeing the results a book or ethos has on somebody can often have such a magnifying effect on the message itself. This seems especially the case with this blog.

You seem to have taken the concept and really made a success of it. Naturally, you have had a catalyst of quite a magnitude to give you the emotion of 'gratitude' but I am sure we all have something in our lives that we can be truly grateful for.

I will be using this technique. Thanks
